Bottomless bellinis and a very fine brunch at the beautiful Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings in Clerkenwell

A stylish brunch spot situated just off Exmouth Market, Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings features a stunning wrap around bar with a light-filled conservatory restaurant. It’s effortlessly glamorous décor is of a well-heeled country house where a eccentric elderly aunt drinks long cocktails all day whilst pottering around tending to her plants.

The whole place is totally Instagramable, with palm print arm chairs, chintzy sofas and wire garden chairs in ice-cream colours, all under a lush canopy of green foliage.

Catching up, laughing and eating are the key ingredients for a perfect brunch, adding the option of a bottomless cocktail and you know you are in for a treat without the price of dinner. At Bourne & Hollingsworth your glass is refilled while you are busy chatting and every so often your eye catches an element of the décor, which makes you want to totally remodel your house on your return.

We ate braised beef, crispy potato hash, HP hollandaise, crispy shallots, with a poached hen’s egg and enjoyed several of the bottomless bellinis. The lure of a sobering walk along Exmouth Market prevented us from retiring to the lounge area to enjoy real mint tea and carry on chatting in this most elegant of venues.
