With Christmas been and gone (already!) we’re fast turning our attentions to the arrival of 2012 and what promises to be a rather special year for our lovely country. With the Diamond Jubilee in June followed by the Olympic and the Paralympic Games, we’re anticipating an infectious sense of national pride taking hold and a jolly ol’ national knees up; the kind that made Kate & Wills wedding such a joy - street parties, flag flying and an all round hurrah for everything Great and British.

To mark the occasion we’re launching ‘Back Britain’ – a year long campaign aimed at capturing the national spirit at this special time and celebrating all that makes Great Britain so very unique and fabulous. As part of this, we’ll be hosting a series of monthly competitions to find out ‘why you love it’. Whether it’s a blissful walk across our green and pleasant land, a favourite spot to take afternoon tea or that heritage craftsperson whose work you most admire, we want to know about it – in just 150 words.

A series of very lovely prizes have been kindly donated by some of our favourite British Brands and winners will be chosen by our Editor Rebecca based on originality of content and quality of writing. All of your lovely jewels of insider knowledge and declarations of local love will also be popped up on the website for everyone to see, fully accredited to you of course (so a brilliant way to raise awareness of your blog or business too!).
