A Charming Crafternoon

With the Girls at the Papered Parlour
A Charming Crafternoon Stray into the back lanes of Clapham and you'll stumble upon The Papered Parlour, a heavenly homemade home from home for budding designer-makers across the capital. This fabulously friendly independent craft venue is a shiny beacon of hope in efforts to preserve traditional craft practices and houses some of London’s most passionate artists, designers and musicians.

Founded last year by two local ladies, the Parlour plays host to weekly workshops in dressmaking, knitting, millinery, silversmithing, screen-printing, photography and quilting. It is, quite literally, bursting at the seams with creative charm and community spirit. Locals stop in for a chat and a cuppa while artists make the most of the lovely light and bright gallery space.

With bags of encouragement and lashings of tea and cake, The Papered Parlour have all the ingredients to enable even the most inept crafter to ascend into the realms of handmade heaven. While away a morning perfecting your cross-stitch or take the opportunity to fashion your own frock at an afternoon course in dressmaking. Your creations may not be fit for public outings, but we guarantee you will learn something that is sure to impress your nearest and dearest, and leave you feeling really quite smug.
