The coffee at the Black Cat cafe is great but the service, friendly though it is, is appalling. The waitresses often forget the most simple of orders, I've often had to chase part or all of my order and I've waited over ten minutes for one drink in a cafe with three other customers. The coffee is good but it's not THAT good! Hot Numbers, just off Mill Road, the other side of the bridge does just as good coffee, serves cake from Fitzbillies (Cambridge institution) and the service is far better. The Black Cat cafe is fine so long as you're not in any hurry or really hungry!
