Fun on the Farm
Visit Freightliners, the Pretty City Farm

Introduce your little ones to the sights, sounds and smells of life on the farm with a visit to Freightliners, a rural idyll in the heart of Islington. This working farm is home to a menagerie of mammals including cows, sheep, pigs, goats, geese and guinea pigs. It also produces a selection of free-range eggs, fresh veg and honey, as and when the residents oblige.
Community is at the heart of life at Freightliners. This summer, the paddock will be transformed into an open-air theatre, hosting performances of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth, both staged by the acclaimed Principal Theatre Company. The farm also offers a range of free activities for the under 5’s throughout the year, plus a whole host of clubs and classes to keep children of all ages entertained over the summer holiday.
Although it only occupies a tiny space, Freightliners achieves a remarkable semblance of rural tranquility. Take sanctuary on one of the brightly coloured benches or soak up the laid back atmosphere as you enjoy a cake, coffee or snack from the balcony of the lovely vegetarian café (open Friday-Sunday). Offering a momentary escape to the country, Freightliners certainly secures our vote as the prettiest farm in London.
Tickets for Macbeth (Thursday 15 July) and Taming of the Shrew (Sunday 1 August) are on sale now https://forms.enfield.gov.uk/peo/show.asp
Need somewhere for your furry friends to stay whilst you are on hols? Book them into Freightliners, home from home for rabbits, guinea pigs and other rodents.
